#Me Too.

The #Me Too movement was started years ago by activist Tarana Burke, but just recently was brought to light in the wake of numerous accusations against infamous film producer, Harvey Weinstein. #MeToo has become a symbol on social media that has been used by thousands. Burke's website, metoomvmt.org, defines the ultimate goal of the organization as "to ensure survivors know they're not alone in their journey."

The Silence Breakers.

The Silence Breakers, a group of women who've come out with their stories of sexual misconduct, were named Time's Person of the Year. The women involved all faced different reasons as to why they didn't come out immediately such as violent threats, fear of loosing their jobs, and fear of ruining their reputations. The mass movement of revelations started after famous actress Ashley Judd revealed her story, and other women began to come forth with their own. The group came together with the idea of  not only exposing their abusers, but giving other victims a voice and inspiring them to share their experiences too.

The Time's Up campaign started on January 1st, 2018. Time's Up not only gives women a platform and a voice, but provides legal defense and funds for women facing abuse. The campaign works to stop sexual abuse in the work place. Timesupnow.com states the mission is to address "systemic inequality and injustice in the workplace that have kept underrepresented groups from reaching their full potential." and to "improve laws, employment agreements, and corporate policies; help change the face of corporate boardrooms and the C-suite; and enable more women and men to access our legal system to hold wrongdoers accountable."

Time's Up.
